Job Summary:
POWER is looking for a Human Resource Generalist to join our team in our Swissvale, PA office. The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This position requires a strong foundation of HR knowledge and employment law practices, excellent interpersonal skills and judgment, and the ability to manage several core HR areas of practice. The Human Resource Generalist supports various functions of the Human Resource department, including talent, benefits, leave, employee relations, administration of company policies, and reporting. 
The ideal person for this position has a proven expertise in Human Resources to include practiced experience in talent acquisition, benefits administration, analytics and reporting, and managing to policies and procedures. They should demonstrate the capability to manage competing priorities across multiple core HR areas of practice and be comfortable in a true Generalist HR role. They will be proficient and tech savvy with a passion for process improvement and building processes. To be successful in this role, the individual should be patient, compassionate and respectful. They should demonstrate belonging, excellent listening and communication skills through all interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and coordinate HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Support recruitment efforts including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Maintain employee records and HRIS systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
- Provide guidance to employees on HR-related issues, including performance management and employee relations.
- Support training and development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including regulatory surveys within our programs.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve processes and employee engagement.
- Prepare reports and presentations for HR metrics and analytics.
- Exercise sound judgment while handling sensitive information and situations with confidentiality, diplomacy, tact, discretion and professionalism.
- Routinely maintain and demonstrate excellent customer service skills in interactions with colleagues, POWER employees, stakeholders and client situations. Demonstrate compassion and belonging through all interactions.
- Maintains high level of proficiency with technology and functions with a tech savvy approach, integrating apps and AI into the core HR processes to elevate the HR department and the manner in which we interact with candidates and staff.
- Demonstrate a strong level of business acumen demonstrated through both verbal and written communications.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in HR
- Experience with recruitment and selection as an HR specialist
- Strong foundational knowledge of employment laws
- Tech Savvy and highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite, SharePoint, and various HRIS and HR core systems.
- Act 73, 33, and 34 clearances required
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred
